About
Aida Amalina was born in Malacca in 1995 and raised in Jitra, Kedah. She graduated with a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Science, Malaysia, in Penang. Besides designing buildings and spaces, Aida also— has deep passions for travel, gastronomy, photography, fashion, and blogging. Aims to design natural yet modern architecture, Aida is still exploring her architectural style and philosophy. Her design direction focuses on creating elegant architecture. She believes architecture is an interplay and overlay of fashion and culture. The type of materials and technique of the construction embodies the weaving of fabrics, which can create a different and vast array of patterns and textures. Her style mainly focuses on playing and exploring basic geometrical shapes and elements to create a design that is more intricate and subtle. She believes that simplicity is an understatement. By simplicity, there can be a presence of peace and stillness in the overwhelming repetition of basic geometrical shapes as a consequence of the common conditions required to trigger the state of tranquillity are often emptiness, vastness, and lightness. Ironically, Aida is convinced that from simplicity derives complexity.
